Sonia Vasquez is an artist living and working in Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee earning her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Painting and Drawing. Since then, Vasquez has directed her focus on studying classical realism through artist workshops, books, and online media. The two schools of thought led to her intersection of traditional portraiture with contemporary concepts. With her work, Vasquez intends to amplify people and their stories not historically found in traditional portraiture, museums, and galleries.
