Sonia Vasquez is a queer, Mexican artist from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee earning her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Painting and Drawing. Since then, Vasquez has directed her focus on studying classical realism through artist workshops, books, and online media. The two schools of thought led to her intersection of traditional techniques with contemporary concepts. Her inspirations are often found in queer studies, people, history, and her collection of antiques and oddities.
